Description:

This recipe pack was inspired by "LongWayMod" which (as far as I can tell) is no longer supported, and many have stopped using it since it has serious bugs with the vehicle build (breaks sleeping in cars, for example). I would recommend not using LongWayMod with this one.

Desperate Crafting is a "long play" recipe pack, meant to add "common sense" recipes that feel vanilla and intuitive – in other words, recipes where you think "why can’t I do this?" This mod is not complete, and more recipes will likely be added in the future. All recipes it adds can be found in the Survivalist tab in the Crafting menu. Further, all recipes added by this mod that require a needle can alternatively use a suture needle.

Here is an example of some of the useful recipes added in Desperate Crafting:

"Make Makeshift Shovel"
Allows you to create a shovel by attaching a trowel to a sturdy stick.

"Break Shovel Into Trowel"
Allows you to snap the head off a shovel and use it as a trowel.

"Make Sheet"
Allows you to sew together 8 ripped sheets to make a new sheet.

"Make Homemade Soap"
Using some very gamified real life logic, allows you to concoct a fresh bar of soap using any fatty meat, a plank, and a lighter/matches.

"Make Towels"
Allows you to use any sharp object to cut up various larger fabrics (sheets, clothing) into absorbent towels.

"Reclaim Thread", "Twist Twine", and "Make Rope"
A progressive set of recipes allowing you to create rope from twine, create twine from thread, and harvest thread from ripped sheets.

"Make Homemade Glue"
Allows the creation of basic white glue using flour and water.

"Make Big Hiking Bag"
If you have 2 Normal Hiking Bags, you can fashion them together into a Big Hiking Bag, but will need a knife/scissors to cut the normal bags, and a needle/thread to sew them together.

"Make Tarp"
Allows the creation of a waterproof tarp using the loose logic of sewing several sheets together and coating it in the wax from one candle.
