Doll Oil (Doll Race Submod)
REQUIRES THE DOLL RACE MOD TO FUNCTION
For those who enjoy my Doll mod but want to challenge themselves a bit more, this mod makes it so Dolls need to consume a special type of fuel to survive, though they cannot eat anything else. The main features are:
NEW: Update to newest Kenshi, it should work already but I want to make it official.
IMPORTANT: Because of the way robots work, the hunger meter will appear to be greyed out. However, the hunger meter is still active, though it moves slowly. The only way to know if your Doll needs refueling will be if you give them fuel and they consume if or if the ‘starving’ background appears on the portrait. Nothing can be done about this unfortunately.
IMPORTANT: Dolls will only consume liquid fuel or packets, not normal food. If they do eat food then it’s a problem and let me know its happening pls.
-Doll Oil: The fuel for Dolls. Due to being an inferior type of machine compared to the internally fueled Skeleton, Dolls require an external fuel source to survive.
-All Doll traders ought to have this oil with them in their list of goods, along with any Robotics Workshops or anything that uses the Hi tech junk vendor list.
-At Tech Level 2, you can construct oil wells that mine fuel in polluted biomes, and synthesizers that process it into Doll Oil.

"When you get down to it, Dolls were always a poor imitation of the Skeletons. Not to say they’re worthless of course, the model is still incredibly advanced compared to the current era’s tech level. But comparing them to Skeletons is like comparing Greenlanders to Gorillos. Unlike the Skeletons, who run on an internal power source indefinitely, Dolls require occasional but necessary consumption of a specially synthesized fluid referred to as Doll oil, Doll fuel, or any other similar permutation. The fluid requires only a special synthesizer engine and the normal fuel one can find anywhere in the continent. It should be noted, however, that there are many cases of Dolls who have not consumed this fluid for decades, or even centuries, and remained functional. Almost all of these cases have been Grievers. It is believed that the nature of Grievers, that of staying motionless in their depression until something arrives for them to vent their frustrations onto, preserves their energy, allowing them to last for incredibly long periods of time without the need to refuel. Indeed, its hypothesized that a Doll could stave off starvation for millenia if it simply didn’t move. Of course, by that time it would likely have reverted to a Griever-like state, so the technique is fairly useless to awakened Dolls unless they wish to forsake their sanity. But I digress. In conclusion, the production of Doll fuel is vital to their well-being, and any settlement that employs the race would do well to secure a source of the stuff, be it from traders, or simply their own extraction devices."
