An Alien Frontier
After approval on a new experimental jump drive, the crew of the Icarus were placed into suspended animation inside cryotubes, and sent on a ten year mission to reach the outer edge of our solar system. Once they arrive, they will dock with Rim Station Horizon, and proceed with the test. Everything was set for mission launch, until a fault in one of the Icarus’ subsystems caused an overload in Primary system functions, forcing the ship to be launched into an unknown region of the Milky Way.
The Icarus exited it’s unplanned jump in a decaying orbit around an unknown world, breaking up on re-entry as the added strain immediately after the jump tore the weakened hull apart, leaving the ship crippled without any possibility of flying again.
After the crash, the crew awakened from their sleep, unaware of the events that fate had brought them, now they must survive if they wish to return home..
