Description:

A Sectopod Buff Mod.

If you are anything like me, you are running Xcom 2 with so many mods that you don’t even remember what the vanilla experience is like, and when you spot a Sectopod you laugh, you laugh and you think "thank god you’re not [insert really powerful modded enemy here]" as you blast the poor Sectopod with your overpowered soldier that has been overdosing on covert actions for months.
NO LONGER! The Sectopod is supposed to be the ultimate AyyLmao weapon system, and this mod is my attempt to make the Sectopod as powerful and frustratingly annoying as possible, i originally planned to make this mod for myself but i figured i would share.

WHAT IS IN THIS MOD:

  • Sectopod stat buffs.
  • 2 new abilities for the Sectopod.
  • Sectopod Lightning Storm, the Sectopod’s all new Bladestorm ability.
  • Sectopod Self Repair Systems, the Sectopod will regenerate 4 hp every turn.

Sectopod Changes

Most of the changes to the Sectopod are simple .ini changes, the biggest are a massive increase to its health and armor(In Legendary it has 12 armor and 90 hp), it also has more mobility(20 in Legendary), and it now gets a bonus to aim when flanking, on top of having higher aim. I’ve made no changes to their weapons at all.
It does have a new toy however, a "Bladestorm" ability, if you want to go rules of nature on the Sectopod you will now have to think twice about it, if you get too close it will activate a lightning field(it looks the same as the normal lightning field) that deals between 6 to 10 damage, it cannot crit but it will bypass 10 pips of armor, and consider that this is in addition of its lightning field ability, meaning that if you keep anything parked in melee range of the Sectopod it will get double the dose. In addition it has 3 other new perks, it has Covering Fire, Guardian and a Regeneration perk that will heal it for 4 HP every turn.

KNOWN ISSUES:

None at the moment.

COMPATIBILITY:

I’ve made no changes to the Sectopod AI, or its existing abilities, or its weapon, so it should be compatible with most things. However anything that changes Covering Fire and Guardian will also affect the Sectopod, in addition any other mod that modifies the Sectopod’s stats(the ones you can find in XcomGameData_CharacterStats.ini) will be incompatible, meaning that one of the mods would overwrite the stat changes of the other mod. In other words, it should be compatible with pretty much everything.

But why?

I feel like with some of the mods i use the Sectopod is starting to lag behind and it’s no longer scary, so i wanted to make a mod for myself to buff it but i figured i would share. Also the alien mods i make myself were starting to step on the Sectopod’s toes with how powerful they were becoming, now there is a very large gap between them and this.
