Description:

War of the Chosen compatible version of my mod, Derejin Helmet Pack. Description’s the same as the vanilla/LW2 version.

Link to that version here!

A pack of accessories for your characters to use, based on Skyrim, Star Wars, Dead Space, and more.

Want armor to go with it? My new mod, "Ebontech Armor," is designed to match this mod’s Ebony Helmet 03.
Take a look!

Made in Blender and GIMP. Yes, really, just those two! They’re both free!
I started focusing on Blender in about June 2017.
It took several attempts to get a reasonable base for a helmet – having to restart after creating a good looking helmet that had some fundamental issues, for example.
But those were part of the modeling learning process, and if I didn’t do that, I would not be able to produce what you see here now.

It’s possible. You can do it too.

This is my first serious forray into 3D Modeling: if you have tips, please leave them as comments!

I may add more gear later!

If you want more, please let me know, and how so: variations? Just new stuff in general? Specific requests? 🙂

-CapnBub’s Accesories Pack (imported from it to act as a guideline)
-Stenchfury Modular Helmets (same)

-Guide on 3D Modeling Workflow (done in 3DSMax, not Blender, but the routine he uses, and the concepts, are incredibly applicable)

I may make a guide for making props for XCOM 2, as there were MANY steps involved in making this mod, and MANY mistakes made along the way that took up a lot of time correcting.
If I can elucidate some of the mod-creation routine, it may help the modding community immensely, as there are a lot of tough questions with easy answers that I ran across while making this mod (and sometimes had to brute force to find the answer).
Knowing the workflow drastically reduces the turnaround time on starting on a model and having a releaseable product!

Versions:

v1.6
=Ebontech Mask Patch
=Adds Ebontech Mask (fits both male+female)

v1.5.5
=Hair Patch
=Added "Hair" versions of the Dovah-prefixed helmets, that use some fallback hair from your character’s hairstyle. It may clip with some hairstyles.
=Updated archetype names – this may unequip the helmets from your soldiers in a playthrough that used a previous version of this mod, but shouldn’t cause any other problems.
=Updated material for Ebony Helm 01 Red (wasn’t obeying tint)

v1.5.1
=Ebontech Patch
=Just a quick update to slightly widen Ebony Helm 03 for female characters, as it clipped slightly with
female Skirmisher head models in WOTC.

v1.5
=Ebontech Armor Update!
=Re-imported Ebony Helmet 02 to fix import issues: should be much smoother looking
=Altered Ebony Helmet 03’s female mesh to better suit female head and body size
=Added tinted lights versions for Dovah Helm 02, Ebony Helm 01, and Ebony Helm 03 (tinted lights versions have lights that obey secondary color)

FAQ
-None yet!

Known Issues
-Female soldiers’ eyelashes may "glow" through the goggles of Dovah Helm 01 (and any future gear that has a transparent eye cover).
This is an engine issue and occurs with official armor pieces (such as the Andromedon headpiece from the Alien Hunters DLC), and it is not the fault of this mod.
If anyone is aware of a way to "fix" this issue for any specific prop, please let me know.
-Slight issue with clipping may occur on back of Dovah Jaw 01.
-Slight seam on Dovah Helm 02 under the horn. Taken steps to fix it, but it may require a large re-work to truly fix.
-Ebony Helm 02 may clip with larger mouth types for certain faces.

Incompatibilities:
-None known yet. Should be none, since this is just a cosmetic mod.
