Description:

This mod adds the SVD Dragunov, a semi-automatic 7.62x54R sniper/marksman rifle for sharpshooters, with a standard PSO-1 scope, and a marksman version without a PSO-1 scope (Obtainable through Aim Bonus attachment).

This model did not come from Call of Duty: Black Ops. All I used from Black Ops is the weapon icon and the sounds. This model is actually made by a talented New Vegas modder by the name of Stoy79, alias Heffy.

If you like Fallout: New Vegas, and AKs and AR15s, then I recommend that you check out his mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/42970/?. Although I did not get his blessing, his mod page’s credits and distribution allowed the porting of his weapons to other games, as long as I credit him and not make any profit off of it. I would like to get his blessing, but he kinda hard to find these days. Believe me, I’ve tried. Check the image or his mod page for proof.

FEATURES

-You can apply camo and custom colors to the SVD.
-Textures are high resolution.
-You can configure the mod to your liking, now including who can carry this weapon.
-Custom Weapon Sounds for the SVD from Black Ops.
-You can upgrade the weapon to magnetic and beam tiers, and keep the attachments for your weapons too.

Custom class version available. To add to your favorite class mod, do the following:
Go to your custom class mod’s ini, and add this:
+AllowedWeapons=(SlotType=eInvSlot_PrimaryWeapon, WeaponType="Stoy79Cat_SVD")
The custom class will now be able to equip the weapon.

Includes custom model attachments for the following attachments:
Aim Bonus Upgrade [1PN34 nightvision scope for sharpshooters, PSO-1 for Marksman rifle (Custom Class version)]
Critical Bonus Chance
Free Kill Upgrade

The custom models for these attachments are for the weapon only; it shouldn’t apply to any other weapon or weapon mod.

No dual mag model yet.

KNOWN ISSUES

-I’ve disabled stock, trigger, extended and the dual mag attachments visually. You can still apply attachments and get the bonus; they just won’t show up anymore.
-I don’t have a PSO-1M2 scope mesh for the Dragunov, which is more accurate for Dragunovs to have.

TODO

Fix some bugs, if any.
Port more weapons.

-Redone the AO maps for the SVD, and its attachments.

-No more custom XComClassData.ini. The default category for the marksman version is now the rifle. I will ignore any and all requests for this feature to return because it’s not worth the hassle.

-Fixed the infamous bug where the firing sound stops playing when the game’s FPS tanks below 30.

-Replaced the animation again with the beam firing animation, but without the charging SFX.
-Mono sounds was replaced with the stereo wavs.

-Replaced the sniper animation with the M14’s three shot animation for both versions of the weapon.

-Re-encoded the sound from 48khz to 44.1khz.

-Fixed the infamous black weapon bug.

-Separated the package into two, one for graphical assets, the other for data, such as archetype, animations, sounds, particle effects, etc. Should be easier to push Unreal Package hotfixes without having to re-download the entire mod again, and it’s easier to mod too.
-Fixed the shell eject particle effect going to the wrong side.
-Replaced X2’s shell casing with a more accurate 7.62x54R shell casing.

-XComGame.int changes:
*Fixed wrong tactical text for the Magnetic version of the SVD.
*Removed Dragunov where it wasn’t needed.

-Added a custom class version of the SVD. No scope on by default. Uses the PSO-1 for the Aim Bonus upgrade instead of the 1PN34 Nightvision scope.

*There is now a engineer score that you have to reach to upgrade the SVD (both sniper and custom class).
