THIS IS FOR THE BASE/LEGACY VERSION OF THE GAME

A collection of alien heads from everyone’s favourite wretched hive of scum and villainy. There are a total of 9 species, all of which make an appearance in the Mos Eisley cantina sequence in A New Hope.

The heads are available as Props under the Helmets/Hats category. The skin of all but two of the heads (Aqualish and Snivvian) are tintable. Skin tint has been set to the Armour colour palette to provide a range of skin tone options. Eyes are currently fixed and not tintable (except for the Devaronian). Also now included are some additional static/fixed texture variants of the tintable heads. These provide a little more fidelity than the tintable versions.

An invisible head is available via my SW Alien Head Pack Extra – Base Heads mod, which is a dependency for this mod. Note to existing users: if you are having trouble, make sure you have this.

Notes:

The heads currently have a mixed range of facial animation. The Devaronian has the most as it makes use of the vanilla teeth and eyes. Others like the Duros and Rodian have some eyebrow and mouth movement. I’ll attempt to expand and improve this in future updates.

There will be various levels of clipping around the neck region. Aside from the Aqualish (whose head is giant), the Bith is probably the worst. It’s probably not resolvable due to the need to hide the vanilla eye and teeth meshes. Additionally, the source meshes are fairly low poly, especially around the base of the neck, so there will occasionally be some bad deformation with certain animations with extreme head movement/twisting.

The skin for the tintable versions is a bit bland and lacking in detail. The source textures were only a dismal 512×512, so there wasn’t much to work with. The skin materials may need some tweaking in a future update, as they are a little dark. The eye materials also need some tweaking, as the level of reflection is a bit excessive.

I plan to include some arms with alien hands for several of the species in a future update. I may also add a female Rodian head (none of the rest have female versions).
