Description:

Big engines seem to be a trend right now, so I thought I’d throw my hat into the ring. :X

Inspired by a design by George Henderson of the Baldwin Locomotive Works, this 4-8-8-8-8-8-4 cab forward, articulated boiler, quintuplex locomotive would never have worked in the real world – an earlier Triplex design that was actually built barely could reach a few miles per hour because it ran out of steam so quickly.

Thankfully (?) such a limitation does not exist in Transport Fever.

Obviously a lot of assets come from the vanilla Big Boy locomotive, so due credit to the devs for the model. Without it, this probably wouldn’t have been possible.

Comes with tinting, aging, a placeable rail asset (because why the hell not), and a reversed version too. God knows why. There’s also a Canteen/auxiliary tender included as well aging and a palceable rail asset.

There’s no logo support at this stage – however, I plan on adding it. With this many components, it’s a bit tricky to add something like that without breaking everything. >.>

Stats are as follows:

4-8-8-8-8-8-4 Quintuplex
Available 1941-1994*

Power: 10000kw
Traction: 800kn
Weight: 1200t

*-The original design and patent date back to ~1918, but I just didn’t feel right about making this available before the Big Boy.
