Carmen
Carmen was a pharmacist working at a clinic in Porogen while also being a part-time college student. She was in her senior year of college when riots begin to break out. Numerous individuals came in with prescriptions for all kinds of pain medication, and soon enough, the supplies began to dwindle. The clinic eventually had to be boarded up and closed due to rioters attacking it as the shortage grew worse and worse. One day, there was a break-in, and all the medical supplies that were supposed to be transported to the military were taken away by looters.
Carmen and her coworkers had no idea how to deliver the news to the military that the supplies were gone, but the military already knew of the situation and took it into their own hands. They punished Carmen’s coworkers by killing several of them – Carmen and the others managed to escape before they were executed, but Carmen’s psyche shattered as she was forced to relive the horrific sight of her coworkers, her friends, being brutally murdered right in front of her.
Carmen took refuge in Central Square, where she helped traders prepare medical supplies for trade. It was here that she finally felt secure – that is, until the miltary showed up yet again and decided to raid and destroy Central Square. Carmen barely escape – she took a bullet wound to the leg – but she perservered, which ultimately saved her life. She is now in a house outside of Porogen with some other survivors. She hopes that her medical abilities will be enough to help them carry through to the end of the war.
