Ante Bellum

Following the defeat of Hussites in Bohemia, Europe enjoyed years of relative peace and stability. But everything is about to change. With sudden death of Frankish Emperor and his only son, the throne was seized by his brother, old and hated Lothair who hasnt yet produced a legitimate heir. If he died heirless, his death would not only mean an extinction for the Carolingian dynasty, but would also cause a great turmoil within the Holy Roman Empire. Meanwhile, another threat strangles Europe from the south, as Muslim Sultanates of Sicily and Andalusia are preparing for their imminent invasion of Italy and Iberia. In the middle east, an era of stagnation of the Nizzarid dynasty came to an end as young Adbul became a new leader with ambition to purge Levant of Crusader states. Order which existed in Europe for centuries is about to fall and this mod will give you an opportunity to experience it first hand.

Ante Bellum is a Euro-centric alt. history mod with a main goal to offer new and interesting country setup, provide fresh gameplay and focus on the flavor and depth of countries represented in the mod.

It is not ironman compatible. Compability with other mods is not supported.

The mod is only compatible with 1.28 version of the game, it was scripted with all DLCs in mind. Missing some of those might lead to a worse experience but mod will work anyways.

English is the only supported language.

This is the first public version of this mod, it might contain a lot of bugs which will be eventually fixed over time.

Because of time concerns, a lot of promised content had to be cut otherwise i would not be able to release it in time. Everything that was planned will be added to the mod in future updates.

Because of mentioned time concerns, a lot of stuff in the mod (mainly missions and national ideas) are missing proper localization.
