Description:

Beastfeast’s no realm divide mod v1.0

This mod removes the realm divide event from Total War: Shogun 2. Note: Realm divide will still occur if you take Kyoto from the Ashikaga Shogunate.

Unlike the vanilla game you can make the Ashikaga Shogunate your vassals without any diplomatic consequences.

The mod is save game compatible, so you can load a game before realm divide occurs to prevent it from happening.

Please note: May not work with other mods. Use mod combinations at your own risk!

_______

For anyone that is curious about how this mod works, in the vanilla game each province you take adds towards a score. When the score reaches a threshold, realm divide occurs. The mod functions by making each territory add 0 to your score. This means that the realm divide event can never occur from taking territory, no matter ho much territory you hold. The mod also includes diplomatic modifiers which lessen the impact of realm divide if you do take the capital. Your friendly allies will be more likely to side with you as a result.

The mod was designed with historical accuracy and gameplay in mind. Historically the ashikaga clan became the vassals of the oda clan. No actual ‘realm divide’ occurred and the oda ruled most of the country without without having to fight every other clan. The mod will make the late game easier. If the game is too easy for your taste, you can compensate by increasing the game’s difficulty in the game settings or starting the game at a higher difficulty level.
