Description:

This in an RP geared mod that will allow you to start with an NPC allied faction called The Union. This mod has changed the override conditions in the game so that if you are allied to this NPC faction the vanilla override conditions will not occur and instead the this NPC allied faction will take over the town instead. This is a way to RP taking over towns "yourself" with the towns still having working shops, bars, recruits, etc. As set up right now it really only works for an anti-slaver playthrough. This NPC faction is set up as non-slaver and I haven’t included slave shops in the setup. Also be aware you can still upset this faction, make them not allied, and cause these overrides to no longer work. I’ve added a Union Pacifier to Mongrel. I’ve mostly based this faction off of Mongrel’s setup and the shops in these new overrides will usually be better than what was there beforehand. For one example, the high quality robotics shop you usually only find in Mongrel or the Black Desert City will now be in most cities you flip to your NPC faction.

This mod will only work from a new game start. This mod includes copies of all the vanilla starts (except the Holy Nation Citizen) labelled "- The Union" to use for such a new game. Importing will not work because your faction will still not be allied to this new NPC faction. It’s possible you could edit an existing save to make you allied to this NPC faction and it would work but no guarantees there.

–Shek
-Admag – The Union will take over if Esata the Stone Golem is killed
-Last Stand – The Union will take over if Esata the Stone Golem is killed
-Squin – The Union will take of if Esata the Stone Golem is killed

–The Holy Nation
-Bad Teeth – The Union will take over if Inquisitor Seta is killed. The town should remain HN if you kill the Holy Phoenix before killing Seta.
-Stack – The Union will take over if Inquisitor Seta is killed. The town should remain HN if you kill the Holy Phoenix before killing Seta.
-Okran’s Shield – The Union will take over if Inquisitor Valtena is killed. The base should remain HN if you kill the Holy Phoenix before killing Valtena.
-Okran’s Fist – The Union will take over if both Inquisitor Valtena & The Holy Phoenix are killed. The base should remain HN before both are killed.
-Blister Hill / Rebirth – If the Holy Phoenix is killed, but Moll of the Flotsam Ninjas is alive, these towns will flip to the Flotsam Ninjas using the vanilla overrides. If you kill Moll and Phoenix these towns will flip to The Union.
-Holy Farms and Mines – The Union will take these over if the Holy Phoenix is killed. There is a small bug because I’ve copied the existing HN farmers. They will be allied but are still prejudiced and won’t talk to you if you are a Skeleton and possibly other things.

–United Cities Southwest
-Catun – The Union will take over if Lord Shiro has been killed.
-Clownsteady – The Union will take over if the Slave Market Master and Slave Mistress Grace have been killed.
-Drifter’s Last – The Union will take over if Lady Merin and Slave Mistress Grace have been killed.
-Manhunter Base – The Union will take over if the Slave Market Master and Slave Mistress Grace have been killed.
-Slave Farm South – The Union will take over if the Slave Market Master and Slave Mistress Grace have been killed.
-Slave Markets (S Wetlands) – The Union will take over if the Slave Market Master has been killed.
-2 New "Abandoned Towns" – If the Slave Market Master, Slave Mistress Grace, and Lady Merin have been killed the 2 Abandoned Towns in the SW of The Hook will be taken over by The Union and become functional NPC towns with shops.

–United Cities Northeast
-Bark – The Union will take over if Lord Sanda is killed.
-Brink – The Union will take over if Lady Tsugi is killed.
-Farming Village – The Union will take over if Lady Tsugi is killed. This is bugged a bit. One shop has its interior floating in the air. I left this in because I figured this was better than it remaining UC or being dead.
-Fishing Village (Outlands) – Bugged. If Lady Tsugi dies Deadcats (like the Northern Fishing Village) take over. I left this in because I figured this was better than it remaining UC or being dead.
-Eyesocket – The Union will take over if Slave Master Grande is killed.
-Heft – The Union will take over if Emperor Tengu is killed.
-Heng / Trader’s Edge – The Union will take over if Longen is killed.
-Port North – The Union will take over if Lady Kana is killed.
-Port South – The Union will take over if Slave Master Wada is killed.
-Sho-Battai – The Union will take over if Lord Nagata is killed.
-Slave Farm (by Gut) – The Union will take over if Slave Mistress Ren is killed.
-South Stone Camp – The Union will take over if Slave Master Ruben is killed.
-Stoat – The Union will take over if Lord Inaba is killed.
-Stone Camp – The Union will take over if Slave Master Haga is killed.

–Other Factions
-Crab Town – The Union will take over if the Crab Queen is killed.
-Crab Villages – The Union will take over the 2 towns in Greenbeach if the Crab Queen is killed.
-Cult Village – The Union will take over if The Preacher is killed.
-Fish Isle – The Union will take over if the King Gurgler is killed. Small bug here, I’ve added no guards here because they’d aggro everyone else. I’ve left it here because the town seems to work and this seems better than a town at civil war or remaining gurgler or dead. No guarantee how long the shop keepers here last though.
-Fishing Village N – The Union will take over if Tinfist is killed.
-Flotsam Village – The Union will take over if Moll is killed.
-Spring – The Union will take over if Tinfist is killed.
-The Free Settlement/City – If Emperor Tengu and Longen are killed but Tinfist is still alive the vanilla flip to the Anti-Slaver Free City occurs. The Union will take over if Tinfist, Tengu, and Longen are killed.

I’ve tried to write this such that all of these overrides are based on the player being allied to this NPC faction The Union. I’ve created copies of all the vanilla starts (except Holy Nation Citizen) with the player being allied to this NPC faction. I added an additional world state to the vanilla overrides for these towns that had them for the player not being allied to this NPC faction. In theory, that means normal starts without being allied to this faction should allow the vanilla overrides to occur still. I would think even some other mods that change override conditions would work. No guarantees though.

I might have been slack with getting generators in some new towns for power. If you find this problem during a playthough, let me know, and I’ll try to update the mod. For a quick fix go into the shift-F12 menu and buildings and put down a couple of generators because I don’t want that to hold up a game.

Any feedback is appreciated. This is my first mod and I just created it because the existing overrides were lackluster and the editor for this game is simple. But I really don’t know what I’m doing and just learned as I went along through trial and error. Also, anyone else is free to take this framework and run with it if they want. All I want is to keep expanding the Kenshi experience for people.
