Description:

"Radio Now Mars: We are on the radio, we are on Mars. Right now."

This radio station comes from my love of amazing guitarists and my love of surreal comedy. It currently contains 147 tracks, consisting of:

  • 21 talking segments (all pulled from various Firesign Theatre albums)
  • 18 ads (also pulled from various Firesign Theatre albums)
  • 8 bumps (station ids, I made these myself)
  • 100 songs (all instrumental, all with electric guitars, the styles range from rock to jazz-rock to progressive-rock to a little bit of metal)

That boils down to over 1 hour of talking and over 8 hours of music. Currently, the music, ads, and bumps all play in random order but the talking segments play in a specific order when they come up (it loosely follows a story, I thought it might be more confusing if they played out of order). I may change that if it gets annoying hearing the same talking segments too often (i.e. if you switch to a different radio station and then switch back to Radio Now Mars, it starts back at the 1st talking segment). Leave a comment if you think random talking segments would be better.

UPDATE: The talking segments now play in random order as well.

If you’re interested in a radio station that has just the music from this station with none of the talking segments, ads, or bumps, check out my other station Mars Guitars.
