Do you hate mercenaries?

Join the club. My last game as Macedonia I decided to see how many mercenaries I could drop on the Island of Melite. At the end date I had almost dropped 4 million dudes on the island to keep them away from the AI and I hadn’t yet managed to drop all the mercs from Egypt. Unreal. I actually went past the end date by 6 months just to get the screenshot. 4 million lads just chilling xD

However, this mod doesn’t remove mercenaries entirely. It seems unreasonable to do so. Mercenaries did exist in those days.

Changes.

1. One Mercenary army for each region.
2. Cohort strength at the beginning of the game is around 60% of normal give or take.
3. End game when you have 10,000 pops in your home region alone you would only have 200k mercenaries or so in that region. Still kind of large – how many nations today have armed forces at this level?

I didn’t touch pirates because while they are annoying they are nowhere near as annoying as mercenaries.

I also added another version with some tweaks to the end date and maximum gold. Maybe people want that one instead.
