Description:

A collection of weapons and utility items that leverage a 3-stage bitterfrost effect. You’ll need the frost bomb to start the Bitterfrost Protocol project in the proving ground, but it won’t consume it.

Stage 1: Chilled: Mobility and dodge are reduced
Stage 2: Bitter Chilled: Mobility is reduced to a crawl and dodge is completely negated.
Stage 3: Frozen o/

Cryolator

Experimental chemthrower does low cold damage (comparable to a pistol) and bitterfrost in a cone.
Upgraded by cannon schematics, increasing damage.
It’s Overwatch attack is also aoe! careful how you position your soldiers, as it can damage friendlies.
Non-primary targets of the Overwatch attack won’t be bitter chilled or frozen (it could get a bit silly with reinfocements)
The first is given as a bonus for completing the bitterfrost protocol project, and you can build additional cryolators in the proving ground.
They can use other special shots, but the range table means anything beyond their normal range is pretty much garunteed to miss.

I’ve enabled it on a few classes, but you can add this to class templates to enable it on them too:
+AllowedWeapons=(SlotType=eInvSlot_PrimaryWeapon, WeaponType="chemthrower")

(Was originally using the same assets as DerBK‘s cryopriests, but later replaced with a new metallic textures, different FX etc)

Frostweave

Additionaly needs the shieldbearer autopsy.
Provides bonus health and immunity to fire and cold.
Melee attackers will be frozen.

Bitterfrost Grenade/Bomb/Warhead

Available in all three tiers (although T3 is only available when nuclear warfare or superior explosives is present)
explosive cold damage and bitterfrost in a small area.
There’s also an AWC perk ‘MZFreeBitterfrostGrenade’ that you can pick up for a free one, even before completing the research.

Bitterfrost Rounds

Applies bitterfrost with every attack, but does not provide any bonus damage.
Abilities that apply multiple hits in one gamestate (ex. Fan Fire) will only apply 1 stage of bitterfrost.

The Winter King’s Fangs

A one-of–kind ripjack made from the viper kings fangs, it does cold damage and bitterfrost on every attack.
Grants the same frostbite and viper panic effects as the serpent suit.
Exactly one can be built in the proving ground after completing the viper king’s autopsy.

Cryolauncher

A heavy weapon built in the proving grounds.
A variant of the rocket launcher, it does not shred armour or damage cover. Instead it bitterfrosts.
Once powered armour is researched, they can be upgraded one a time to a superior version with increased damage and radius.

Gene Mod (Chest): Bitterfrost Blood

If used alongside gene mods, this will be unlocked when the protocol project is completed.
Grants immunity to cold, and freezes adjacent targets when damaged.
Also triggers the same effect removal as freeze on the soldier, making it easily mitigate many DoT effects.
