Description:
What is Codex UI?

Codex UI aims to replace all Vanilla UI elements with blessed iconography drawn by the Imperium’s most talented Chapter serfs and servitors. It’s enough to make Sanguinius’ holy ghost weep tears of blood.

All original classes and ranks have been renamed and their icons replaced with ones more appropriate to the Warhammer 40k Universe.

So, what’s next?

– Rewriting faction and class descriptions to be more fluff appropriate.
– Greater class mod compatibility
– Astra Militarum UI
– Adepta Sororitas UI
– Primaris U-Pfffft, just kidding.
– Any 40k themed UI you can think of.

Drop your suggestions for future iterations down in the comments.

F.A.Q

Why not use such and such a rank?

Because the Adeptus Astartes use one of the most thoroughly disorganised hierarchical systems in the Imperium of Man. More a loosely threaded together warrior caste than a military force. Get back to me when you’ve figured out 7-8 ranks per class specialisation.

Where are all the Sergeants at?

Sub to K’s Officer Mod to get your chainsword and bolt pistol fix. It’s much better than having a dozen Chapter Masters running around, trust me.

Ephoroi, Kill-Marine, Paladin? Sounds like a bad boy band.

I thought I’d get a little more specific with my hero options. It’s highly unusual for any single Custodian, Deathwatch Marine or Grey Knight to be deployed on their lonesome. However, each faction has their own select agents which can be deployed independently in covert operations.

Why are Paladins ranked by Quests?

The only instance I can think of where a Grey Knight deployment doesn’t end in excessive mind scrubbing is the eight quests between a hopeful aspirant and the lauded rank of Paladin. Even then, I’m certain the Ordo Malleus will nab a few fresh servitors from amongst your ranks.

No Chapter Master, Forge Master or Master of the Librarium! Where have all the Masters gone?

Alas, there can only be one and as such, these ranks are not compatible with XCom’s Brigadier spam philosophy. I like to imagine that such high ranking marines would not take to the field often, and would instead remain behind on the battle barge to advise you, the glorious Master of your Chapter.

Remember, any decisions you do not approve of can be altered in the mod’s localisation file.

IMPORTANT

Make sure you sub to K’s officer mod & the pharmacist class mod before subbing to Codex UI. Otherwise the conversion will not work as intended.
