Romans Use Byzantine Units
Rulers with the Roman culture will now use Byzantine/Greek units from the Byzantine Unit Pack as well as the early variants provided in Charlemagne. Whilst this can be enabled as a standalone mod, this was primarily made as an alternative for the Western-style Roman units mod I made here.
However, because of how the Steam Workshop handles .mod files, this is NOT compatible with the Manic’s Units mod. Luckily, it can be made compatible by following the steps below:
- Step 1 – Subscribe to the mod and wait for the files to download from the Workshop. Skip this step if you have downloaded and installed it manually.
- Step 2 – Locate your Crusader Kings II mod folder (default location: DocumentsParadox InteractiveCrusader Kings II) and find a file named manics_roman_units_alternate.mod.
- Step 3 – Open the file with any text editor (Notepad etc). Add the line dependencies = { "Manic’s Units" } underneath path="mod/manics_roman_units_alternate" and save.
- Step 4 – There is no step 4. It should now work!
This custom unit pack should be fully compatible with any and all mods for Crusader Kings II, so long as they don’t also edit units tied to the ‘romangfx’ culture.
