Frackin Universe: Make Strange Seas Random Again
As of Frackin Universe 5.6.367, Strange Seas were changed. No longer being randomly spawning oceans, they were changed to spawning straight "plasmic fluid" (aka alien juice) because "They were being over-used as resource sinks they were never intended to be."
Unfortunately, this also makes them rather dull to explore now. At least, in my opinion (and I’m sure of the opinion of anyone else who uses this patch). Part of the whole fun of exploring strange seas was finding the strange combinations of seas, and yes, using them to your advantage. Taking that away really takes away from the exploration aspect in favor of more grind.
For those of us who don’t give a rat’s rear end what the "ballance-police" want, and want our fun but exploit-prone strange seas back, there’s this mod, that reverts Strange Seas back to their randomly spawning oceans of goodness.
Do I care that this is "unballanced?" Do I care that this will lead to people returning to using them as resource sinks?
You see, it is my philosophy that players are responsible for their own ballancing. If you use this patch and abuse strange seas for resource sinks, that’s on you, not me.
Still, I have tagged this as "cheats and god items" just for this reason, even though there is a lot more work involved in resource sinking this than using, say, console codes or spawnable item pack.
No, this mod does NOT bring back Elder Fluid as an ocean type to strange seas. For that, you want this mod, which can work in conjunction with this one. (Yes that’s still around, and yes that still works.)
PS: As a side effect, it also restores the old strange sea descriptions (that mention ‘unknown liquids’ instead of ‘plasmic fluid’ specifically), plus it also restores Plasmic Fluid to Atropus Seas.
