Description:
"A legion of hostile robots? Just what we needed." – Central Officer Bradford

Meet the not so friendly Geth, or the Heretics as they’ve been called by the others. Their goals on Earth are unknown, but they are definitely hostile to everybody else they’ll meet on the battlefield.

They start at pod sizes of 3, upgrading to pod sizes of 5, and they will upgrade with sufficiently stronger weaponry and armour over time, matching or potentially succeeding what ADVENT is able to field. They appear on missions with the Heretic Geth Incursion sitrep, and can consist of the following enemies:

Troopers
Basic Geth platforms carrying Pulse Rifles. These troopers can upgrade to have regenerating shields and grenades, alongside upgrades to their base health, armour, and weapon damage.

Hunters
Geth platforms carrying Katana shotguns. These troopers will try to charge in and shoot you for devastating damage up close. These hunters upgrade to gain Shadowstep and eventually Hit and Run, letting them take a shot at flanked enemies and moving afterwards. These also gain upgrades to their base health, armour, and weapon damage.

Pyros
Geth platforms carrying modified flamethrowers. Working like cleansers, these Pyros will try to set every hostile they meet on fire. They upgrade to gain immunity to crit attacks and fire grenades. These also gain upgrades to their base health, armour, and weapon damage, and they may explode violently depending on the circumstance of their destruction.

Primes
A large Geth platform designed to lead other Geth platforms in the field, Geth Primes can’t take cover, but make up for that for effectively being walking tanks compared to a good chunk of organic units in the field. They start off with regenerating shields, and everything about them: their armour, their weapon damage, their shield strength will increase as time goes on. There’s no real gimmick to how they operate, just expect them to be hardy opponents in the field if ADVENT’s unable to act as an ablative meatshield against them.

This mod also supports Raider Faction Bases, including the latest Covert Ops update for it.

FAQ

The game froze when it went to the Heretic Geth turn!
You didn’t have the highlander installed. Please install it.

To be sure you have actually have it installed, check the lower right corner of the main menu after subscribing: you should see a note indicating what version of the highlander you have installed.

The mission ended when there were still some of these enemies left?
Unfortunately the nature of how XCOM’s backend works means I would need to replace every single mission kismet in order to make them properly count as enemies for the game to track when it comes to mission completion. For now you can assume enemies just retreat once XCOM has eliminated all threats and is able to start focusing on them.
