[WOTC] Destiny Weapon Pack #2 (v1.01)
"i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love guns
and i love killing xenos
gimmie the guns, ♥♥♥♥♥"
-Haiku by an anonymous XCOM Soldier, circa 20XX
You can find my first Destiny weapon pack here.
NOTE: If the gun fire audio sounds a bit louder/quieter compared to the Vanilla guns, i don’t have access to my headphones at this time and i’m stuck with some cheaper speakers, so i’m not able to fine-tune the audio as well. Tell me in the comments if something needs to be adjusted.

Some more firearms from the Destiny series, including:
ASSAULT RIFLES:
-Tommy’s Matchbook
SHOTGUNS:
-The Fourth Horseman
CANNONS:
-The Hammerhead
-The Heir Apparent
SNIPER RIFLES:
-No Land Beyond
All of them have variants for all 3 weapon tiers, and they’re upgraded by researching and building the default weapon tier upgrades.
They all come with their original firing sounds.
The Hammerhead comes with its own particle effects.
All stats can be changed inside the config files.
————————————————-
-The holo sight on the Hammerhead only shows up properly when you zoom in really close to it.
-The holo sight on Tommy’s Matchbook disappears when looking at it from the side.
-The Heir Apparent’s barrel currently doesn’t spin.
-All of the weapons have varying degrees of grip clipping issues with the Soldiers’ hands, due to their size and shape difference compared to the XCOM guns.
If the guns don’t show up mid-campaign, you likely need to start a new campaign.
Tell me if you find any more, i’ll see if i can do something about it.
No, there won’t be a Vanilla version of this.

VERSION 1.01 (8/12/2020)
-Re-Imported all of the gun meshes with a better smoothing option; if you notice any odd looking shading or lighting on the guns in the screenshots, those issues should now be fixed (i’m too lazy to update the screenshots)
-Increased the shininess on the Hammerhead
-Deleted some un-used AnimSequences from the custom Soldier Pawn sets to save some space
-Sized all Diffuse textures down from 2048×2048 to 1024×1024
-Sized some other textures down from 1024×1024 to 512×512
To explain the texture down-sizing: The Unreal Engine’s texture compression sucks ♥♥♥♥, and if you make a mod with a bunch of 2048×2048 sized textures or even bigger, your mod’s gonna get big incredibly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ quickly, and the problem there is that if you make or install enough mods over 100 MBs in size or so, your load times are gonna get shredded fast.
In an FPS or something similar, you would likely notice a slight dip in quality ’cause you have your weapons in close view at nearly all times: In XCOM, however, the closest you ever get to looking at your Soldier’s weaponry is in the armory, and even then, it’s nowhere near as close a view as you’d have in an FPS.
And i’m only gonna be making more mods in due time, so to cut down on both my and your loading times, i’ve opted to size down various textures to 1024×1024 and 512×512, reducing the total file size from 108 MBs to 68 MBs.
Long winded explaination aside, it’s really not that noticeable of a quality hit anyway. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
