This mod focuses on the history of Europe in graphic and informative terms.
As the following lines will explain, this mod is still in development. The current focus here is on the further expansion of the city histories. For now.

What does this mod do?
It replaces the old terrain pictures.
It inserts new pictures for 626 European provinces. The focus here is on historical views (vedutas) of the provincial capitals, preferably created before 1800. For some of them I used regional landscape views due to absent vedutas.
The advantages and disadvantages of the original terrain were adopted.
With new pictures the following regions could be equipped:
Britain, France, the Iberian Peninsula (including the islands in the Atlantic Ocean), the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, North and South Germany, Scandinavia, the Baltic States and almost the entire Balkans. The other regions could only be partially supplied with new pictures until now, because it turned out to be extremely difficult for some regions to find suitable pictures. Let’s just say that I mostly failed because of the cyrillic script …
A mouseover over the view also reveals a brief history of the city before 1444. There is a translation from German for the English, French and Spanish version. Currently, texts for about 300 provinces are included in the mod, more will follow!

Edit: NightLight *** now works on the russian version!
As a native German speaker, I had to place myself in the hands of the well-known translation portals for the translations. Since I hardly speak a word of French or Spanish, I hope that the translations do not distort the meaning of what is actually reproduced there.
By the somewhat premature publication I hope that the one or the other perhaps has the one or the other missing city view (200 are missing according to my list) in the drawer and sends it to me for further processing.

Compatibility with other mods:
All mods that make changes to the terrain.txt (located in the map folder) will block and disable HoE. This concerns for example Extended Timeline and Beyond Typus.
Unfortunately the mod is not compatible with the Ironman mode!
