Description:

Subtle reskin of Malus Darkblade and a reworking of the effects that accompany T’zarkan.

Literally could not have done this without Xoudad for his glowing expertise and Belisarian’s walkthrough for VFX editing, two major roadblocks that I have now surpassed! THANKS DUDES!

DOWNLOAD THE REQUIRED MOD OR THE CHANGED EFFECTS WON’T DISPLAY PROPERLY.

Inspired by Malus Darkblade’s color scheme on novel covers and a special edition tabletop miniature of his, the changes are as follows:

-Purple silks are now red hued (including Spite’s saddle).

-Spite has slightly more vibrant green scales, same with the sea dragon scales on Malus’s cloak.

-Malus’s purple shoulder bat wing ornament has been made black, the jewels on his armor changed from purple to red (or glowing red as on his sword hilt)

-Glowing runes in Druhir symbols meaning strife, victory over death, conquest, hatred and doom now illuminate the Warpsword of Khaine, with the rune of Khaine uniting all these concepts in the middle.

-T’zarkan’s flames/glow effects, Malus’s initial transformation, and the Bloodstorm spell, have all had their colors reworked from purple to a more rosy Chaos Warp red.

-Malus’s complexion has been paled a little bit, introduced some blue tones and some subtle corruption vein action, as per the books, where T’zarkan’s presence began to manifest across Malus with strung out junkie veins. It came out more faint than intended, may revisit in the future with a sub-mod.

-T’zarkan’s hair is less gray and more white.

-Minor UI portrait changes. T’zarkan’s porthole refuses to change. Don’t know why.

I tried to change all of Malus’s spells to be more Chaos colored, but the majority of his spells are tied with other animation libraries which means one change in this mod would affect other effects throughout the game, hence the limited changes.

First picture was taken with default vanilla settings, the rest have been ReShade enhanced, so your version of T’zarkan’s effects may be more pinkish or reddish.

BIG NOTE: The persistent flames around T’zarkan’s shoulder, feet and sword, will not be consistent in their intensity in every battle. Don’t know why. It changes every time you go T’zarkan mode, sometimes only one flame will be super bright, sometimes all of them will be. What fun!

Enjoy!
