Description:

EpsTweak is a series of small mods that tweak the balance of Civ 6. Rather than put all of them into one hefty package, I’ve split them into small fragments to allow you to make your own custom rulesets.

Out of all mod types, a tall play mod is by far the most popular thing people have requested of me. So I’ve made my best attempt at a lightweight solution that enables you to compete on a small number of cities.

The way it’s designed is that there are 4 core tall buildings that give you a big boost to science, culture, economy, and faith respectively. However, you can only have 1 of each in your empire, and they come at a price – after they are built, they make the same district type in other cities worse. Build all four, and you’ll find yourself hesitant to build those districts in your non-core cities at all, which in turn makes founding extra cities less appealing. Beyond the core 4, there is also an extra 5 buildings that specialize the tall cities even further, along with a special Policy that will help you grow your population.

National College
Campus building that unlocks at Mathematics.
Limited to 1 per civilization. Provides a big bonus towards your science at the cost of making Campuses in your other cities worse. Requires a Library.

+2 Housing, +8 Science, +4 Great Scientist points
Libraries in other cities yield -1 Science.
Universities in other cities yield -2 Science.

Research Institute
Campus building that unlocks at Scientific Theory.
Limited to 1 per civilization. This district gains 1 extra Citizen slot, and its Citizen slots yield +1 Science. Consumes 3 Power. Requires a National College.

+1 Amenity, +8 Science, +14 extra Science while Powered, +6 Great Scientist points
Research Labs in other cities yield -4 Science.

Ministry of Culture
Theater Square building that unlocks at Medieval Faires.
Limited to 1 per civilization. Provides a big bonus towards your culture at the cost of making Theater Squares in your other cities worse. Requires an Amphitheater.

+2 Housing, +6 Culture, 3 Great Work of Art slots, +2 Great Writer points, +4 Great Artist points
The Amphitheater in this city gains 2 more Great Work of Writing slots.
Amphitheaters in other cities yield -1 Culture.
Museums in other cities yield -2 Culture.

National Broadcast Station
Theater Square building that unlocks at Mass Media.
Limited to 1 per civilization. This district gains 1 extra Citizen slot, and its Citizen slots yield +1 Cutlure. Consumes 3 Power. Requires a Ministry of Culture.

+1 Amenity, +6 Culture, +10 extra Culture while Powered, 2 Great Work of Music slots, +6 Great Musician points, +3 Great Artist points.
Broadcast Centers in other cities yield -4 Culture.

Royal Treasury
Commercial Hub building that unlocks at Castles.
Limited to 1 per civilization. Provides a big bonus towards your economy at the cost of making Commercial Hubs and Harbors in your other cities worse. Requires a Market.

+2 Housing, +10 Gold, +4 Great Merchant points, +3 Trade Route capacity
Markets in other cities yield -2 Gold and do not provide Trade Route capacity.
Lighthouses in other cities do not provide Trade Route capacity.
Banks in other cities yield -3 Gold.

National Bank
Commercial Hub building that unlocks at Economics.
Limited to 1 per civilization. This district gains 1 extra Citizen slot, and its Citizen slots yield +2 Gold. Consumes 3 Power. Requires a Royal Treasury.

+1 Amenity, +10 Gold, +18 extra Gold while Powered, +6 Great Merchant points, +3 Trade Route capacity
Stock Exchanges in other cities yield -6 Gold.

Grand Temple
Holy Site building that unlocks at Divine Right.
Limited to 1 per civilization. Provides a big bonus towards your faith at the cost of making Holy Sites in your other cities worse. Requires a Temple.

+2 Housing, +10 Faith
Shrines in other cities yield -1 Faith.
Temples in other cities yield -2 Faith.

Theological College
Holy Site building that unlocks at Reformed Church.
Limited to 1 per civilization. This district gains 1 extra Citizen slot, and its Citizen slots yield +1 Faith. Requires a Grand Temple.

+1 Amenity, +10 Faith
Worship buildings (Pagoda, Cathedral, etc.) in other cities yield -2 Faith.

Retinue Quarters
City Center building.
Requires a National College, Ministry of Culture, Royal Treasury, or Grand Temple.
+10% population growth in this city.
+3 Housing

Royal Recruitment
Economic Policy. Unlocks at Civil Service.
+15% growth in cities with Retinue Quarters. -10% growth in cities without them.
