Personal Shields
Personal shields are equipable grenade gear that work in similar fashion to Kinetic Screen or Motile Inducer with mechanical effect similar to Progeny shield pylon effect – they add temporary extra HP stacked on top of units base HP.
This opens up tactical ability of bracing for damage in advance for a short time. Effects of the shield can be stacked multiple times allowing for brief periods of high damage soaking capabilities.
Core concept is to offer alternative to Medikits or Kinetic Screens which falls in the middle, giving slightly more health than Medikits or Nanomedikits do with the caveat of it being temporary which in turn is balanced with the effect being applied separately to unit current health allowing preparation for future damage much like Kinetic Screen.
Counter balancing against Kinetic Screen relies on the fact that single application might not soak entire damage, however unlike Kinetic Screen, multiple instances of Personal Shield can be applied on a single unit at the same time giving them brief near-invulnerability at the cost of forcing more than 1 unit to carry the item.
There is also a breach variant that grants bonus 6HP for all units at given breach point during the breach.
