Description:

*NOW COMPATIBLE WITH 2.3*

*IN NO WAY COMPATIBLE WITH 2.4.1*

This mod has evovled. No longer just a simple mod which replaces the Kingdom of Italy. This mod creates a Kingdom of the SPQR which exists alongside the Kingdom of Italy. In the old Gods start, this Kingdom controls both Rome and Orvieto but in the 1066 Start it controls only Rome. This new kingdom is capable of forming the Empire of Italy, which is now named the Western Roman Empire, which is capable of reuniting or reforming the Roman Empire. To reunite the Empire, you must claim the title of the Byzantine Empire as well.

It is up to you to decide whether or not you will found the Roman Republic or continue on as the Dominate. Founding the Republic is as easy as using the Found Merchant Republic option given to you. At a later date I will add the ability to restore the Dominate, but for now I am tired and just glad I got everything to work. I will work on adding other bookmarks, but I do not feel comfortable with adding later bookmarks because of just how unrealistic it’d be at that point (funny, right?). That said, the Kingdom of SPQR should still be formable at even later bookmarks, and Italy can still create the Empire of Italia (Western Roman Empire now) and receive all the same benefits of reunification and such.

The only thing I haven’t tested is mending the schism as a Catholic, so let me know how that goes. If you absolutely need to run the game on 2.1.6, let me know. That said, the start should (I hope) still not rely on any content from Charlemagne or Rajas of India — if it does rely on them, sorry, I’ll see what I can do. Also, changing the name of the mod.

Well, the new version is out. Took awhile. I added a Charlemagne start, unfortunately, you need the Charlemagne DLC in order to make use of it.

As promised;
