Use the tools of Chaos and Order to bring balance

Equilibrist is a class centered around balance of the universe, be it in yin and yang, sun and moon, good and evil, light and dark or order and chaos. The Equilibrist wields 2 powerful kind of skills, the Order skills and the Chaos skills. Each skill is linked with another skill of the other kind, and by using a skill it will flip to its other side and will be put on cooldown!

  • Order skills are themed around healing and buffing characters and require hydrosophist.
  • Chaos skills are themed around dealing damage and debuffing characters and require pyrokinetic.

Succession of same side skills will disrupt the balance

Every time you use a skill, the universe keeps track of it, using 3 skills of the same side in succession will disrupt the balance, but alternating between the two sides resets the counter. If you do disturb the balance the following will happen:

  • Your turn ends!
  • All your skills will flip to the other side.
  • All cooldowns will be reset to 0!
  • Your next skill must be of the balancing kind.

Disturbing the balance gives some major disadvantages, but if it is used right it can turn the tide of battle too. This contradiction is in itself a delicate balance.

Inflict Corruption and Integrity on anyone

The Equilibrist class mod comes with some tools to flavour the battle the way you want it by allowing you to inflict integrity and corruption. These two statuses stack up to a maximum of 5 and interact with each other. For example, a corrupted character deals extra damage to other corrupted characters but less to characters with integrity (based on the number of stacks). On the other hand, characters with integrity receive less damage from corrupted characters and deal extra damage to them but only if their integrity level outmatches their corruption level!

Lots of skills too, depend on the corruption and integrity levels of opponents. The ultimate source skills that can be unlocked on level 16 for example can only be cast at targets with 5 stacks!

Because the Equilibrist does not know the predefined definition of foe or ally but rather decides this for his own, all the skills can target any character. This makes it harder to distribute the corruption and integrity stacks the way you want it but in turn it for example allows a fun playstyle where you go kamikaze and corrupt yourself or your teammates as well as the "enemies".

The mod includes a grant total of 26 sets of skills (so 52 total) to accommodate a true equilibrist

The 26 sets of skills offer the possibility for a number of different playstyles, where they can be used standalone, or mixed with vanilla skills. I will leave you to discover a playstyle you like. There are 4 sets of skills per tier and they unlock at level 1, 4, 9, 13 and 16. There are also 6 sets of crafted skills that can be crafted at any level.

An all new trader to suit the needs of every Equilibrist

White Shadow has made her way to Rivellon to sell the Equilibrist everything an Equilibrist will need. She sells all starter skillbooks at lvl 1 adding more at lvls 4, 9, 13 and 16. She also sells various potions and, starting from Driftwood, extra crafting ingredients. Also, if you ask nicely, she will help you in your journey to become a better equilibrist.
She can be found in Rivellon at the following locations:

  • In Fort Joy standing on the beach near Stingtail
  • In Driftwood close to two children discussing where their friend Joe might be
  • On The nameless Isle in the elven camp
  • And in Arx standing next to water left after you enter the city
