Description:

DISCLAIMER: This mod has no political affiliations, nor views. Except that slavery and the transatlantic slave trade were of course awful things, and deserve to be recognised for that. However, I’m not trying to approach a modern political agenda by making this mod, I’m just shedding some light on an important part of history that EU4 often overlooks.

EDIT (1 Nov): Holy hell, I didn’t expect this mod to blow up as much as it did. Thank you to everyone who downloaded and liked the mod. Please also check out my other mods, such as https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2639021915.

New World Slavery is a mod aimed at increasing the actual impacts of the transatlantic trade in the game. I personally feel like EU4 really just glosses over the triangle trade, relinquishing it to a few events and modifiers. New World slavery aims to fix that by giving it a bigger game role.

Features:

– An actual slavery modifier
– Over time, slaves brought from Africa will replace populations in the New World with brand new slave cultures, such as Afro-Carribean
– New and repurposed slave tags across the Carribean, such as Haiti, Jamaica, Barbados, Bermuda, Guyana, etc
– Slave Revolts can spawn in slave provinces in nations with slavery enabled
– A brand new disaster during the Age of Revolutions intended to parallel the OTL Haitian Revolution
– Liberia, a rare unicorn formable nation if your capital is in Guinea and your culture is African-American

Please note that is mod is a heavy WIP, and the following is subject to change:
– The rate and amount of slave provinces being spawned
– An overhaul of the (currently unfinished) Slave Revolution disaster
– More tags across the New World to represent Maroon slave communities
– More events, especially for nations in Europe itself

This mod is not Ironman Compatible.
