The Tzar Bomba
Deep within the bowels of the Hell Pit, the Kislevites found a Doomrocket, that thank Ursun, was not used.
Taking it to the Ice Court, with the assistance of the Dwarves, they were able to craft a bomb far more powerful than the Doomrocket of the Skaven; The Tzar Bomba.
As a means of payload delivery, the Dwarves have "gifted" a personally made Gyrobomber to the Tzar himself, equipped with explosive Ice Rounds and smaller, yet still very powerful Frostfire Bombs.
Not wanting Kislev’s fate to go uncertain with the Tzar’s untimely death, a loyal Patriarch equipped with Streltsi armor has been entrusted with task of flying the Tzarbomber.

This mod adds a new retextured (& mapped) Gyrobomber type of unit to Kislev, with a crazed armored Patriarch as it’s pilot, and of course the Tzar Bomba
The Tzar Bomba’s detonation is similar to that of Ikit’s Doomrocket, however the center explosion kills everything inside, including many large units and the Tzarbomber itself. In addition to the initial explosion, there is a shrapnel blast of Ice Shards with extreme anti-large bias and a shockwave that blinds everyone within a great distance, including your own units.
The Frostfire bombs also do a decent amount of damage, similar to the Skyhammer’s bombs, except the explosion blinds and has Ice Shard shrapnel as well, except not as powerful as the Tzar Bomba’s.
The Tzarbomber will also receive bonuses from the Warsled & Little Grom Lord-Skill bonuses.
The main aim of this mod was to be fun and lore friendly.
My goal was not to balance this unit for combat, as that’s impossible, so instead I tried to balance it’s cost and how it is acquired, and the turns it takes to recruit.
That being said, I did take great care and time to make sure the new abilities and unit’s missile attack all functioned in a way that felt right with the game in the proportion to what you were seeing.
Yeah it may be overpowered, but it’s very fun.
There is also a 75 second initial recharge for balance purposes, one of the only ways to balance the Bomba.
I had it at 120 seconds, and that felt to long.
My goal is to make sure Khorne can at least reach the enemy army before the Bomba can be used, and if Khorne chooses to just sit there while the Bomba charges, that’s his fault.

The only way to recruit this unit in the campaign is to have a Smithy (Tier 4) built at the Hell Pit costing 30000 gold.
Which isn’t necessarily hard, just takes time.
In multiplayer, it is enabled for recruitment if that suits you and whoever you’re playing withs fancy, but it costs 50000 points, and if you fail to land the bomb, you’ll likely lose.
I might adjust those numbers in the future, just have it set there for now.

CAUTION
Using the Tzar Bomba can cause a significant FPS loss.
I have tested this on my 1070 TI with ultra graphics settings on everything including unit size, and the game would still run, but at about 10-20 FPS.
In that specific battle without the Tzar Bomba, my FPS was running at a solid 30-40 FPS, so make of that what you will.
10-20 FPS is about what it runs at when all the Chaos Portals are open anyways so it doesn’t bother me too much.
I have not yet experience a game crash as a result of this mod while in battle.
If there are any issues or glitches, please let me know, thank you.

Since I had to create a table for just about everything involving this unit, it should be compatible with every mod out there.
And yes it’s save game compatible.

– Want to figure out a way to make the recruitment of the Tzarbomber also require an Alliance with a Dwarven faction for lore consistency.
– To make the Frostfire Bombs glow like the rest of the ice on the Tzarbomber, as currently they don’t.
– Adding different versions of the mod, such as one without the Bomba, or a more FPS friendly version.
– Plan to make a higher definition of the texture in the future.
– Currently there is no actual multiplayer cap, however it costs 50k points so goodluck recruiting two. Will update as soon as I have the fix.
– There is an issue that rarely occurs, where these whirls start appearing on the screen while the Tzarbomber is selected, likely to do with the animation, but finding it’s source has proven tricky as it’s hard to replicate.

Please do not use my custom assets or make an obvious copy using my assets without permission, as I spent a significant amount of my time on this.
Submods are 100% okay with me, just make sure to credit me and of course link to my page otherwise people couldn’t use your mod.
