Magpie’s Samhain Augments
Eight new augments (and two bonus hairstyles) for the sabbat of Samhain! These augments use such seasonal symbolism as pumpkins, nuts, and witches’ tools, along with a heaping helping of sheer fabric to evoke the 19th-century idea of a "veil between the worlds" that grows thin at this time of the year.
Augments included:
-a sheer, bias-cut hooded cloak (comes in both primary and secondary-color variations)
-a sheer draped sash (ditto)
-a set of bracelets made from strung hazelnuts
-2 necklaces: an acorn and a mini cauldron
-2 talismans: an herbal besom (broom) and a candle in a pumpkin shell
-a belt depicting the phases of the moon
The matching hairstyles — one long, one short — drape sheer veils over the hero’s face. They come with or without the accessory, and they’ll auto-generate on background NPCs for a mysterious touch!
Celebrated by many pagans as a cross-quarter festival (exactly halfway between the autumn equinox and winter solstice), Samhain (pronounced sow-en) is observed by many non-pagans as Halloween. This and many related holidays focus on processing the reality of death, coming to terms with the past and future as the nights grow darker. Perfect for a game focused on the stories we become as we live and die!
