True HD Citizens and Rebels
For far too long we have been stuck with low resolution textures, anime taco ‘n’ banana models, and uncomfortably smooth-but-still-kinda-ugly 4k texture upscales. Today, friends, I bring you the solution.
With the power of the ORIGINAL HL2 reference facemaps (found in the Valve archive), combined with the impeccable texturework done by the talented Themanclaw, I finally bring you change.
This addon replaces all original HL2 citizens and rebels with truly HD counterparts using Themanclaw’s excellent clothing textures, but replaces the heads with crisp, HD facemaps, so you don’t have that weirdly smooth look of the original addon.
KNOWN ISSUES(?):
1. Their back 3 fingers are fused together! The improved textures help with this, though. This isn’t a bug, it’s part of the vanilla models. This is simply a texture mod, not a model swap.
2: The woman refugee models don’t have the original beige tops! Again, not a bug, Themanclaw just decided to give the women slightly lighter blue denim instead of the classic beige.
