Zeppelin-Staaken E.4/20
Zeppelin-Staaken E.4/20
History-
In 1919 Germany wanted strategic bombers and Zeppelin-Staaken was to deliver on this. They came up with an idea for a convertible bomber/passenger plane that was all metal. The E-4 was started and was completed in 1919. The E-4 flew test flights from 1920-1922 until it was ordered to be broken up by the Inter-Allied Commission. It never saw genuine service and remains but a footnote in history.
