Description:
Ever wonder why your units are not doing any training or exercises outside of active drilling?

This mod reverses the passive decay mechanic of drill and lets units passively gain drill instead. This simulates the day-to-day training that you would expect active military units to do regardless of campaign status.

The decay is -1% yearly or -0.08 monthly, and the mod changes it so that it becomes +2% or +0.16 monthly instead. This means that whenever the passive decay is (or should be) applied, it now gives drill rather than remove it.

The passive gain is not powerful enough to replace active drilling as a mechanic (if you’re into drilling, that is 😏) since it only gives 20% of what you would gain with active drilling (2% yearly vs 10% yearly).

Feel free to tweak the values in the mod to your liking. This is a very simple mod and I documented the changes I made as best I can in the files.

Is this balanced?

Most likely not. 😎

Compatibility

Not Ironman compatible. Also not compatible with mods that edit the following variables in the defines:

⚔️ Check out my collection Immersive Warfare and Organization for more mods that enhance immersion, realism, and your roleplaying experience:
Renameable Regiments – change the boring "<province>’s <nth> regiment" naming of units
Nerfed Rebel Stacks – cuts down rebel army sizes to 20% and removes their artillery; no more rebel doomstacks
Smaller Mercenary Companies – cuts down mercenary company sizes to 20%; no more massive mercenary stacks
Gain Drill Passively – units now gain drill passively instead of being lazy pigs
