Kyklop by 4smiler
–
- Only 2 prototypes were produced.
- Intended for intercity fast trains in Czechoslovakia, but later they found use as freight trains.
- Holds the speed record of 176 km/h during testing on a closed circuit.
- Equipped with electromagnetic brakes.
- Locomotive was never allowed to even exist as Soviets were not happy that Czechoslovakia produced locomotive that was above 2000 horsepower (production of more powerful locomotives were mainly in Luhansk, where the famous M62‘s were constructed). That fact stopped further production of this locomotive, which is sad, because Kyklop was superior to Soviet locomotives in many ways.
