Pirates!
[EN/FR] *Updated for 1.24* Want more flavour for pirates? This is the mod for you. Adds a Pirate Republic government form and 21 new tags- 5 historical and 16 dynamic pirate republics that can spawn throughout the game, all nicely touched up with 7 national idea groups an equipped with the coastal raiding mechanic which they can use on countries that nominally follow the same religion.
Also adds 41 new events, a new disaster, two new decisions, two new casus bellis and a ‘pirate’ religion to allow coastal raiding, which also includes the ability to add a syncretic faith so you can have the same faith as your pirate republic historically did.
These republics generally spawn one or two in a game and are reasonably well balanced; expect them to burn brightly, but briefly- as the likes of Salé and the Republic of Pirates (in the Bahamas) did historically. They can make an interesting challenge for a player as well.

No, because it changes the game mechanics.

Currently English and French. If you can help with translation, especially into German and Spanish, let me know! Huge thanks to OmgStype for French translation.
-Why isn’t such-and-such a pirate republic mentioned?
Because I haven’t encountered it yet- let me know if there’s anything I’ve missed.
-Is this tested or is it in Beta?
It’s tested and complete. If there are any bugs though, please report them.

Yes, but no spoilers here! If you have suggestions, please feel free to pass them on, credit will of course be given.

You can reuse any part of this mod that is my work (that’s all of it apart from the bits listed below), all I ask is that you let me know you’re doing it and that you credit it. All of the things listed below, if you reuse them, please credit their original authors.
