CONFIG Delray Highroad "Grande Vitesse"
This is the 1998 Delray Highroad "Grande Vitesse" sporting the
beautiful V12 HE engine (Jaguar DLC required).
Though the original Highroad already had multiple high-powered V8 engine options,
Delray Motor Company needed a car to compete with some of Luxor’s highest end
luxury vehicles in the "every day driver" class.
The Grande Vitesse V12 was supposed to be the answer.
Delray released the Grande Vitesse in only two colors; chrome aquamarine and "mafia black".
It was the latter which led to the car becoming somewhat of a favorite with the Jersey mob.
Only 8 months after the car’s first release, mob boss Tony "The Hook" Carnelli was
assassinated in a Grande Vitesse.
Only 400 cars left the production line before the project was quietly cancelled.
The original cars came with gold-plated A-clips, fuel rails and alternator casings. Delray has
never admitted publicly that the project was greatly over budget.
This is a wonderful car to bling out. When you see the Grande Vitesse, every time you pop
the hood, you are surprised by what you see.
