Much like Babylon, Spain didn’t REALLY need a rework per se: they’re really a solid civ after the revamp Firaxis did during the New Frontier Pass. However, I’ve felt that the civ has become somewhat bloated. This mod aims to tighten up Spain’s gameplay somewhat.

Flavorwise, I hoped to make more explicit the fact that Spain went out there, and exploited and converted indigenous cultures to found their empire, as you can see with the new UA and UI names. All that Spanish silver came from somewhere, and it wasn’t Spaniards mining Potosi.

At the same time, I hoped to push Phillip himself in a more cultural direction than the inquisition meme vanilla Spain has him. It was sorta disappointing that with an ability named El Escorial, there was nothing that actually seemed to reference the actual palace/monastery.
