Designed after the failure of the M1 line of flamethrowers, the M2 adapted innovations and upgrades to flamethrower technology from all available models of the time; it was designed essentially by taking every positive the army found on the different flamethrowers around the world and implementing it in a single device.
It could fire both liquid fuel (gasoline mostly) or semisolid fuel (napalm), the 2nd one was most advised due to it’s higher range and effectiveness.
It’s main use was against fortifications, having around 8 seconds of fuel stored which could be primed by a rotating pyrotechnic cylinder with small spark charges; which could be "easily" reloaded on the field (although it wasn’t advised)
