Delray Highroad Sport
2 years after the Highroad came out, Delray wanted to take advantage of the growing ‘sports car’ marketplace but also still keeping their family car appeal…so they decided to throw a V12 into their popular Highroad station wagon. Bigger engine, better tires and wheels, and top of the line (at least, at the time) suspension, which is now standard on most economy cars.
Only, no one told Delray that in order to make a sports car, you typically have to REDUCE weight, not add to it…

I don’t know where the inspiration for this came from. But this is DEFINITELY your grandma’s sleeper…well, once you tune it up, that is. 798HP, AWD V12. Its a great car to drive…but once it DOES actually get going, its a little hard to stop, its a heavy station wagon after all. I had fun throwing this thing (stock) around a track, but it’ll do a lot better upgraded, I’m sure.
I’ve altered both front and rear suspensions, lowered the ride height, changed the wheels and tires, added better extra parts, updated the ECU and radiator, and added an intercooler.
The value of the car has been increased, but it can be found in all the same places the regular Highroad can be found (everywhere but Salon).
I had fun with this one, and I think I’ll actually keep one myself for once.
