[SOCI] Chain: Hunt the Chosen
This mod chains together the base game Hunt Chosen covert actions into one chain and interweave them with an assault mission and an infiltration mission. The base game Chosen Covert Actions will no longer spawn. This mod will put an additional strain on the barracks because of the missions that you have to do to progress the chain.
The new activity chain is triggered for every faction in the new month after the Faction rival Chosen is met (either from the first Retal mission or by revealing them on the Geoscape when you make contacts with new regions).
Assassin Chain: CA -> Infil Intel -> CA -> Assault Supply Raid -> CA
Hunter Chain: CA -> Infil Intel -> CA -> Assault Rescue Scientist – > CA
Warlock Chain: CA -> Infil Intel -> CA -> Assault Rescue Engineer -> CA
Upon completion of the chain, the Chosen Stronghold will be available for Assault. The Stronghold Mission will be the same as in base game i.e. just start it like you always have. One chain per Resistance Faction.
No, but not because I don’t want to. It is because due to how chains are designed, its not possible to make them compatible.
However, that feature is now integrated with this mod (had to rewrite all of them but it works). You need to enable this option in this mod’s config. With this option enabled, the chain will take a different form:

Hunt Chosen I -> Assault: Supply Raid Mission -> Hold for Plot to Complete (either Kill Codex or do Blacksite) -> Hunt Chosen II -> Infiltration: Hack for Intel -> Hold for Plot to Complete (either Kill Avatar or Complete Forge mission) > Hunt Chosen III.
It would work with that mod as well. Obviously the new chain should not trigger within the new faction so if that happens let me know.
The Assault mission has a guaranteed Chosen spawn, so be prepared for that. The reward (Supplies and goodies) will not trigger an Interception Chain 🙂 The infiltration mission is like any other infiltration mission: the more you infil, the less likely Chosen will appear.
A new chain will be triggered next month. Yea you gotta repeat from the beginning. Have fun!
Something must have broke and I am sorry. It should be automated. For workaround, you can use this console command: ChosenChain_RemoveWaitStep. It will progress the chain if the current activity is waiting for plot objectives to be completed.
I am sorry the mod does not work as expected. Please provide your Launch.log file and I can help to troubleshoot. You can spawn the base game Covert Actions manually to save your campaign.
