Vickers-Cascade Wellington Liner

! This Wellington variant, Cascade Aviation, and the city “Riverside” are all fictonal !
During the late 1930’s, Air Cascade (the economy branch of Cascade Aviation) came to Vickers-Armstrong willing to buy several of their Wellingtons to kickstart their passenger service as the global economy healed from the Depression. Vickers accepted and sold several de-armed Wellingtons, which were transferred to Cascade’s manufacturing plant in Riverside, Oregon.
There, the Wellingtons received a new bullet-like nose, re-structured interior, and a thicker tail. Eight seats were fitted while the navigator’s station remained and the cockpit changed very little.
The now-called “Wellington Liners” were a hit, being comfortable, heated, and easy to fly and maintain, although they quickly started to show their age. The replacement aircraft was still on the drawing board when Cascade’s manufacturing priorities shifted towards wartime needs. When it was finally replaced, the Wellington Liners were grossly outdated but still being used. The last surviving Wellington Liner sits outside of Cascade’s headquarters in Riverside, now a well-kept display.

This is a passenger conversion of my Wellington Bomber. And it’s still easy-to-fly and good-looking like the original, with a higher top speed and, in turn, a boost in range.
- Enter the aircraft through hatches on the sides of the fuselage (marked with white arrows) and get to the cockpit.
- Look around the right instrument panels for the battery switch. Turn that on.
- Now to the right again, find the topmost switches labeled “Engine 1”, “Engine 2”, and “Fuel Pumps”. Turn those on, and your engine should be running.
- Look around the bottom-most row of switches for the “Release Wheel Brake” switch.
- Now throttle up. The fins I installed under the wing skin give it STOL capabilities, but they also allow the heavy aircraft to fly.
- Once you do take off, return to the bottom-most row of switches and find the “Retract Landing Gear” switch. Turn that on, and you’re all set for your flight!
- Top Speed: 158 Knots
- Cruise Throttle: .70
- Full Throttle Range: ~131 Minutes, ~636km
- Cruise Throttle Range: ~252 Minutes, ~900km
- Fuel Capacity (Per Tank): 4284
- Crew Capacity: Pilot, Navigator. There is one bed included and eight seats.
- XML Content: Very High (56 parts, all pipes that make up the geodetic airframe)
