Description:

Ever wish kenshi had some form of robotic K9s? You’re gonna regret you did…

This mod introduces the Iron Hounds onto the continent. Don’t pet them they’re not friendly. Well… Maybe you can pet them a little bit but don’t complain if they take your limbs clean off. Think bonedogs with the lethality of iron spiders. They don’t eat so you don’t have to worry about becoming a chew toy.

There’s 6 types of hounds which you can find in different regions.

– Iron Hound (Found in most ancient places)
– Rust Jackal (Found in most ancient places and rarely in deserts)
– Ash Warg (I’ll give you three guesses)
– Grid Prowler (Doesn’t actually spawn in the grid due to technical issues but you can find them in the crater)
– Swamp Lurker (as well as the surrounding forest and wetlands)
– ???

You can also find variants of the regular hound roaming with skeletons like the Legion Warhound, Pack Hound and police K9 unit.

There’s also the new Skelly with a hound start.

Can you buy them?
Only the regular hound from rare merchants for about 15K. Hefty price but worth it.

Can they wear animal packs?
You can find special hound packs in travel and animal stores. Hounds aren’t very good pack animals so don’t expect much storage space.

Can you tame them?
Funnily enough yes. If you’re not satisfied with your poor regular hound…
So here’s what you’re gonna need to do:

– Find a restore kit (can be bought from the hound merchant or found in ancient ruins)
– Find a big stick and beat the hound over the head with said stick
– Put it in a cage
– Bring your new friend back to life

Does this need an import?
Most of this mods content generates in the wild, including the merchants so not really. Unless you want to refresh ruins to try and get a restore kit for free if you explored all of them.

Compatibility
Shouldn’t be much of an issue, been testing this in a save file with 100+ other mods and no problems so far. Shouldn’t be any issues with tame beasties as this mod has it’s own taming system separate from it.
