Make Depth Guard Great Again (No Speed Buff)
Someone in my Supernatural Vampires mod asked about Depth Guard and Blood Knights. Well, Blood Knights are mounted and in a perfectly acceptable place combat wise so I didn’t feel the need to tweak their speed, they don’t use their personal speed regardless. So I debated for a bit and decided to go ahead and tweak Depth Guard a bit.
Depth Guard are vampires, fairly newborn compared to the other vampires in the game, but vampires nonetheless and they’re very… easily slain for this being the case. So I decided that instead of just improving their speed, they could use a couple small tweaks that are otherwise the same as the normal Make Depth Guard Great Again mod but minus the speed buff.
Depth Guard (Axes)
Leadership 60 > 70
Melee Attack 50 > 53
Melee Defense 36 > 40
AP Damage 18 > 30
Bonus V Infantry 5 > 15
Added 35% Shield
Unit Health 7200 > 10200
Added Deathblow

Buffs subject to change, but I definitely wanted to give them some form of shield because as it stands they’re just… entirely worthless against any form of ranged attack. They just got shredded so badly that even with things like The Hunger, which is already worse on multi-model units than it is on single model units, they were in such bad shape by the time they made it to melee that they just weren’t worth it. They’re vampires and can barely hold in melee against any infantry that they’d actually be that likely to fight.
