Introduction

This mod adds the Hung Chaos Tribes as a playable faction in CUSTOM BATTLES.

Unit Roster

Lords

Khan – The Khan is the chief of a Hung Tribe; these brutish and avaricious overlords answer to no man but the Great Khan or the Khagan himself should he rally them the hordes for a great invasion. Khans, even amongst mortal men, are powerhouses in melee combat for one needs to be strong and hardy to survive the treacherous Hung society.

Khatun – Infamous wives of the Khans but sometimes independent queens of their own tribes, the Khatuns are nonetheless imposing and dreaded figures in their own right. Khatuns by contrast to their male counterparts, specialize in dueling weaker targets or destroying enemies from afar with their unique and deadly projectiles. Although not of the Hung clans, Khan-Queens of similar notoriety were said to have mothered the civilization of Kislev in the west.

Heroes

Noyan – Although not as inherently strong nor command the same charisma as their Khans, the Noyans however still function as the brains behind a successful Hung battle, be it a minor skirmish or an important raid deep behind enemy lines. These cunning generals can conduct and coordinate the movement of the hordes from afar but make no mistake, the noyans are still proud Hung warriors whose thirst for battle are never quenched.

Hung Shaman – Seers and witch-doctors, the shaman play a key part in a tribe, whether for spiritual guidance or tearing apart enemy formations with an array of destructive and debilitating sorcery. Shamans are also considered mediums that allow a tribe to communicate with the Hung’s dark gods who they believe reside above the so-called Eternal Sky.

Infantry

Nomad Footmen and Spearmen – Basic sword and spear units for the Hung. They’re naught but fodder although they serve their purpose.

Khevtuul – Elite body guards of a Khan. They can weaken the enemy from afar with their bows and decimate them at close range with their greatswords.

Missile Infantry

Hung Tribesmen – Basic archer units. They are comprised mostly of farmers and other lower caste individuals too poor to own a horse. Nevertheless, their massed arrows can provide decent range support.

Steppe Trackers – These fearless men brave the unforgiving wilderness that is the Great Steppe and make a living hunting unimaginable and sometimes daemonic beasts. Their AP Anti-Large arrows should make any army dependent on fielding beasts of war wary of their presence on the battlefield.

Cavalry

Hung Warriors – These fierce horsemen form the basic rank and file of a standard Hung Tumen or army. Their swords specialize in cutting down infantry. Unlike other cavalry units, they can be reliably used as frontline infantry.

Hung Lancers – These heavy cavalrymen are the main damage dealers of the Hung. Their mighty horses and piercing lances can demolish through enemy ranks unhindered when timed properly.

Torguud – The Torguud are the mounted counterparts of the Khevtuul. While the Khevtuul act as bodyguards while a Khan rests in his yurt, the Torguud accompany a Khan and the noyan on campaigns and form his personal retinue. Torguuds are mighty melee cavalry that serve as direct upgrades of Hung Warriors should a player be able to afford them.

Missile Cavalry

Nomad Horsemen – The ranged counterpart of Hung warriors. Nomad horsemen provide cheap and early mounted skirmishers to a player to weaken the enemy from afar before the proper engagement can begin.

Horse Archers – Horse archers form the core elite of Hung society, for none amongst the northern chaos tribes have such profound respect and pride in the art of horse archery than the Hung. Hung Horse Archers possess a special ability to shoot three arrows at once per volley so that they can perform just as well as any foot archer unit despite their low numbers.

Raiders – What raiders lack in discipline and ranged prowess from their Horse Archer peers, they more than enough make up with brazen bravado on the charge and specialized arrows that serve to debilitate the enemy. Raiders also serve as quasi-artillery for the Hung as they lack traditional warmachines.

Khorchin – Master horse archers that form the Khan’s elite special corps, the Keshig, along with the Torguud and the Khevtuul. Khorchins are so deadly with their craft that their arrows can punch through multiple soldiers at once.

Monsters and Warbeasts

War Hounds – Basic hound units for flanking the enemy line’s rear or chasing after routing troops.

Chaos Vultures – Believed by many tribal societies of the Great Steppe as messengers or harbingers of the Eternal Sky. Chaos Vultures are opportunistic flying monsters that are best used against unwary targets.

Great Centigor Herd – Bestial equine creatures that resemble the centigors of the Old World. The glaives these beastmen possess can hack apart large units with ease.

Great Centigor Elder – Oldest and most mutated of the oriental centigors. These ravenous beasts engorge themselves upon the corpses of the dead and will hurl half-eaten body parts at foes when provoked.

Death Worm – A mythical titanic creature of the Great Steppe, sometimes even worshipped as a minor god by certain tribes. The massive death worm possesses a unique ability where thunder storms follow in its wake. Its humungous girth also causes the very earth around it to constantly upheave loose rocks and boulders.
