I just want my van to start
Have you ever thought that your interstellar camper van is maybe too reliable? Maybe you decided to set up camp somewhere you shouldn’t have. An upset, adult poptop is chewing on the engine compartment. Your only means of escape is refusing to start. The check engine light is on. That discount fuel cell you installed is on fire. You spend your last living moments wishing that you bought the shuttle instead.
Or maybe you like the finer details. The alarm system flashes the headlights when armed, as if the sound wasn’t enough. It now takes a second or two for your van to start after entering it, as long as it’s mostly intact. Sure, you could have installed those advanced thrusters that are ready to go at a moment’s notice, but those drink fuel like no tomorrow. Liquid erchius is too expensive to waste, for someone who lives in a camper van like you anyways. At least that old thruster controller finally got some software updates, maybe now they wont be constantly on full blast at idle.
This a patch for the "I Want to Drive That Van" mod by Argle Bargle https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=764327203, adding new sound effects, animation adjustments, and some mechanic changes, for increased realism/frustration. If you enjoy the additional stress that an old, refurbished vehicle provides, this might be the mod for you.
