How long have we been down here, in this dark and cold place? The last thing we felt… It was hot, it was so very hot, but now we cannot even feel the cold that grips our ruined flesh.
That’s right… There was a fire… Burning, crackling, the smell of smoke, and then… nothing.
The healers did all they could for us. We will never forget their kindness… Only… We cannot even remember our own name…
They all just call us the Rag Man. We died wrapped in these bandages that are now our namesake.
The devils spoke to us. Told us they could make us feel again. That this body of ours will no longer be our prison.
Dirty, tricky, untrustworthy devils. We knew their schemes. But we had nothing left to lose. Whatever the price may be, just a chance to feel alive again is worth reaching for.
Pain. So much pain. The devils made good on their promise. They made us feel pain again.
Pain. So much pain. So much blood. Wonderful, exquisite pain.
