VULKANSK – 1:2 Scale Patagonian Fjords
ATTENTION:
Created with the [test] Version of the game. Will only work if you are currently on the test branch.
Needs the Metro-Update to work with the Borders!
Accurate Heightmap from Volcan Burney in far southern Chile.
Scale is 1:2, also in heights, so every size is accurate.
3 Borders, 1 Large Soviet, 1 small both.
3 Electricities, all Soviet.
No People, no villages, just some mud roads.
Adjusted Borders for maximized and realistic play area.
Resources placed by hand, tried to make the deposits look plausible. Everything is there to be fully independent, some things are hard to get to though.
Real Reason for Map:
I wanted a place, where the suns movement made somewhat sense. Ingame it moves leftwards across the sky, this only happens in the southern hemisphere. The only biosphere remotely like what’s depicted ingame is Patagonia, so there I looked for a place I liked. Big mountains, interesting landscape, Water and small rivers, Reasons for mountain passes but also big areas for farming and cities. So I picked Volcan Burney.
Lore:
In 1955 the Coup in Argentina led to a communist uprising of the southern areas. Parts of Chile joined too, as Argentina fell into a civil war. To protect the south, Chruchev authorized Soviet support and protection for everything they held until that point.
That’s how the far southern tip of Patagonia stabilized into a communist Area and the status quo solidified.
As the claims are low for uninhabited land, and Argentina and Chile both still want their former land back, the Patagonians rush to build new settlements in the border regions. One of these is Vulkansk.
It is your task to establish a permanent and functional presence in this newly created communist republic and help the Patagonian Communes to stand firm and solidify.
