Jacobeast’s Honoriani Mauri

They’re here at Dorian’s request: The Honoriani Mauri! The time has come to conquer the east.

This unit pack includes the Honoriani Mauri Iuniores (skirmishers), the Honoriani Mauri Seniores (swordsmen armed with javelins) the Lanceari Mauri (spearmen armed with javelins) and the Equites Mauri (heavy sword cavalry). They’re recruitable by both the eastern and western roman empire from tier 3 and tier 4 infantry barracks, as well as tier 4 major roman cities. -They’re all immune to desert attrition-

I tried to skin the units as historically accurate as possible, shield designs for the Seniores and Iuniores match the patterns as documented by the Notitia Dignitatum, and the uniforms were based on their known combat styles and depictions of auxiliary Maurian soldiers.

These soldiers are some of the most accomplished fighters of Mauretania, and some dare pose that none in Africa surpass their skills with the spear, sword, javelin and horse. When the southern borders of the empire are in dire need of defense, whether it’s from invading Sassanids, raiding Garamantians or Gaetuli who see their chance fit to take Roman lands for their own, these auxiliary troops stop at nothing to protect their homeland and their empire. No longer will the Sassanids push the Romans around, no longer will petty tribes provoke the eternal city and go unpunished, it is time to take hold of your lands and reclaim what is Roman by right.

All Units are relatively strong and balanced tier 2 units. If you use these men as the bulk of your army, you’ve got yourself a force to be reckoned with.

NB: Each unit comes with a custom officer, and the reskinned roman standard bearer.

Update (05-09-2016): Fixed the unit cards (custom unit cards are now visible for this mod,
and my other mods) and fixed the issue when recruiting a general, now there’s no longer the
option of choosing a general unit (except with the praetorians, as intended).
