Tired of being stuck in the caves fighting a lot of geodu… Wait, wrong game. Anyways, hate travelling deep into the caves because you’ll have to go all the way back just to resurface? Then this is the mod for you!

Description

This mod just adds a craftable escape rope to leave the caves from any where; simply place the structure anywhere in the caves. The rope can also be used to go back down where you left! They work to let you out then back into the caves but you cannot place them above ground as I made then collapse above ground.

You can use a razor or burn them to remove them. Can only be destroyed in the caves, surface entrance cannot be destroyed.

They have finite uses (or infinite; configurable). 6 uses by default. Going up and down both count as uses. Use penalty only affects going up, if there is a penalty set.

There is a set limit from 1 – 12 (6 by default, configurable) at one time. If you lower the limit and there are more ropes in the caves when you start, the world will randomly remove some ropes to bring it back to the limit.

Crafting

The recipe is unlocked by getting a rare blueprint from depth worms at ~18% chance.
– This can be configured to 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%

You can also make it a regular prototypable craft for the alchemy engine/prestihatitator OR make it available from the start.

The above is all controlled by the same mod option.

The mod has a lot of options for crafting but it takes 1 – 3 different ingredients.

Previously placed ropes will keep their old mod setting so you can have a mix match.

First Ingredient Options Affects the appearance of the rope only; see screenshot above

Rope – regular appearance
Livinglog – sinister vine appearance
Reeds – natural vine appearance
Beardhair – darker appearance

Second Ingredient Options Affects the light given off and a bit more

Nightmarefuel – Large light that CANNOT grow crops; gives of negative sanity aura in caves
Gunpowder – Large light radius, good for crops; may cause earthquakes in caves and fires on surface!
Shovel – Small light
None – No light

Gunpower by default
2 required by default

Third Ingredient Options Affects the cost per use; mostly to add difficulty

Health – drains health per use (required amount to craft / 5) Will not kill the player to use if < that hp remaining
Sanity – drains sanity per use (required amount to craft * 2 / 5)
None – no cost per use
