London Underground 2024 Stock
New Tube for London: London Underground 2024 Stock.
Originally intended to be build by Metronet, the company collapsed in 2007 after cost overruns, which prompted a new competition which ended with Siemens getting the bid for a variant of their Inspiro platform. Unlike previous deep-level stock, it will feature an open gangway design and air conditioning.
The trains were originally supposed to be driverless, but the required signal upgrades and track work proved to be too expensive. Capable of 100 kph (60 mph), each 9-car train will offer space for 1076 PAX. The mod supports 3-11 car trains, two of which can be coupled.
Due to financial constraints, the type will at first be delivered for use on the Piccadilly Line to replace 1973 stock. In the long term, it is also intended to replace the current trains on the Bakerloo, Central and Waterloo&City Lines.
The mod is based on concept art and the limited technical information published by Siemens. It will not be 100% accurate to the real trains due to that. However, given that there is not a single train of the type already built, I feel like this is as close as you can get.
