Papyrus

The Great Papyrus returns once more! Thoroughly jape your opponents with attacks and strategies both old and new, including a much more refined Blue Attack!
Papyrus doesn’t stray all too far from his previous iteration in Rivals, but with a much more refined kit and better attacks, he can now live up to his true potential! His kit now focuses heavily on traps and setups.
Papyrus can turn opponents blue to limit their mobility by removing their double jump. Blue turned opponents can still double jump out of hitstun, and holding the jump button on the initial jump will make them jump higher. In Papyrus’ favor, however, a few of his attacks will have different properties that will either hit them harder or leave the target more vulnerable. The only downside to these stronger properties is they’ll shorten the time that the target is blue.
A blue ring forms around Papyrus, and should you be within that range when he snaps his fingers… You’re blue now! That’s his attack! The move also deals slight damage to the target and can affect multiple opponents at once, it can stack 3 more seconds onto the effect’s timer if the target is already blue, and it can even work as a good combo extender if the opponent is already in hitstun.
Papyrus takes out the orb from the invisible electric maze and throws it, although it doesn’t need the maze to electrocute anyone it touches anymore! It will deal slight damage and knock anyone it hits backwards, although if the target has been turned blue, you’ll find the results quite "shocking". The same damage and knockback will be dealt, but now it will deal extra hitstun and hold the opponent in place, leaving them open for a powerful attack or a combo starter!
Papyrus pulls a small array of bones from the ground in front of where he’s currently positioned (even if airborne), which can hurt opponents who touch them. The trap can be placed on any solid ground or platform, it can be useful for guarding ledges, and you can even bounce the shock orb off of it. If the opponent who gets stuck on it is blue, the trap will lower and then hit them with one giant bone! However, use this trap sparingly, as not only can it be destroyed, but it can’t be put out again until a few seconds after you deploy it or it hits somebody. It can also be parried by those quick enough to do so, which will also put this move into cooldown.
After making a leap upwards, Papyrus summons a giant bone to hold him in place, which will begin to lower after a second if anyone is still standing on it. The bone can be broken by anyone with one hitbox, which can put anyone standing on top into pratfall, and Papyrus can get rid of the bone by using up special again without touching the stage or getting hurt.
…Yes, this attack is pretty much identical to Kragg’s Up Special, but it comes with its extra benefits in Papyrus’ favor. He can place his bone trap on top of the spire, and if anyone turned blue is standing on it, it’ll lower faster than normal.
– Down Strong has a special hitbox where Papyrus stomps that may only hit airborne opponents. It’ll launch the target straight down at full force.
– Bone Trap can be used in the air despite the bones still appearing on the ground, so you can use this to surprise anyone down below. Maypul mains should definitely know the drill here!
– Forward Strong has a good size horizontal disjoint, which can be taken advantage of at ledges or if spacing is needed.
